New iPad Setup

  1. Turn on the iPad, wait for the Hello screen to appear, then press the Home button.

  2. Select English as the language.

  3. Select United States for Country/Region.

  4. At the Quickstart screen, press Set Up Manually at the bottom.

  5. For Wi-Fi network, select LVUSD-Guest, then press Continue to the Internet, then press Done in the upper-right corner.

  6. Wait for Activation to initiate.

  7. At the Remote Management screen, press Next, then Enroll this device.

  8. Wait for enrollment to complete.

  9. Press Continue to confirm automatic iPad updates.

  10. At the Screen Time screen, press Set Up Later in Settings to skip this step.

  11. At the Appearance screen, simply press Continue.

  12. At the Welcome to iPad screen, press Get Started to complete setup.

  13. Wait for the pre-installed apps to finish setting up, then restart the iPad to connect to the devices network.


iPad Reset

  1. Open the "Settings" app, and select the "General" tab.

  2. On the right-hand side, scroll all the way down and select "Reset".

  3. On the page that is now open, select "Erase All Content And Settings".

  4. Select "Erase" to begin the reset process.

  5. Once the iPad restarts and displays "Hello", follow the iPad Setup instructions found above.


iPad Backup

Photos/Videos

  1. Download "Google Photos" from the App Store.
  2. Sign-in using your LVUSD credentials.
  3. Upload your photos and videos (Accessible from any device signed into Google Photos with your LVUSD account)

App Data

  1. Check in the app settings for backup options. (Sometimes apps will have the ability to connect to Dropbox or Google Drive.)

iPad Update

  1. Open the "Settings" app, and select the "General" tab.

  2. Select "Software Update" and wait for an available update to appear.

  3. Select "Install Now" to begin the update process. This can take anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour.


App Management

Installing Apps

  1. Locate the ZuluDesk app on your homescreen and open it.

  2. Under the "Apps" tab, find any apps you want to install, and press the "Get" button to begin the download process.

  3. The app will begin installation as soon as it can. This process can take a while, depending on the size of the app.

Updating Apps

  1. Open the iOS App Store.

  2. Navigate to the "Updates" section.

  3. Update any apps that appear on this page as frequently as possible.


Additional Information

Renaissance STAR

There is no longer an app to access the RenSTAR assessment. You can print and use this QR code along with a QR code reader to take your students directly to the login page.

Reading Counts!

Scholastic Reading Counts only allows access to the student portal. To set the app up for student use, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. On the left hand side of the screen, scroll down until you locate the SRC program
  3. Select the application to open up the application settings
  4. Tap "Site ID" and enter "http://rc.lvusd.org:55880/slms/studentaccess" into the hosted site id field. Dismiss the keyboard by tapping in the bottom right corner.
