Basic Printing

  1. Enter the Start menu by clicking on the Start icon in the lower-left corner of the screen, and begin typing in “printers”. Then, select “Printers & scanners”.

  1. In the window that opens up, select “Add a printer or scanner” at the top of the list of currently installed printers.

  1. Your device will attempt to search for devices on the network, which you can ignore. Wait for 5-10 seconds, and select “The printer that I want isn’t listed” at the bottom of the list.

  1. In the next window that pops up, select the “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname” option, and click Next.

  1. Next, type in the hostname of the printer. The hostname, for most networked printers, should be on a label adhered to the front or top of the printer. If the hostname doesn’t have a domain after it, you will need to add it (The domain is structured as follows: SiteInitials.lvusd.org - Ex. lvdo.lvusd.org). Then hit Next.

    1. If your computer finds the printer drivers, you can continue on to the Printer Name page. If not, you will need to use Windows Update to find drivers. The window that appears for driver installation should have two columns. On the left, select the Manufacturer of the printer (ie. HP, Dell, Brother, etc). On the right, scroll through and find the Model of your printer (ie. (HP)Laserjet P1505, (Dell)B2360dn, etc).
  2. Next, type in a name for the printer. Make it something easy to recognize so you can find it easily in a list. Hit Next.

  1. When asked about Printer Sharing, make sure to select the “Do not share this printer” option. Hit Next.

  1. Now your printer should be all setup. On the final screen you can choose to print a test page, or simply complete the process by clicking on Finish.

Credential Setup

  1. Click “Start” and begin typing “credential”, then select “Credential Manager”:

  1. Select “Windows Credentials”:

  1. Select ‘Add a Windows Credential’, and when prompted, enter in the following details:

    1. “Internet or network address”: *roi.lvusd.org*
    2. “User name”: *Your LVUSD email address*
    3. “Password”: *Your LVUSD email password *

  2. Click “OK” and close the window.

Printer Configuration

  1. Now click on “Start” again, and select “Settings”:

  1. Navigate to “Devices”:

  1. Make sure you are on the “Add Printers and Scanners” page:

  1. Select “Add a printer or scanner”, then choose “The printer that I want isn’t listed”:

  1. Click the radio button that states “Select a shared printer by name”, and enter the following information:

    1. For B&W Ricoh:

  2. When the “Do you trust this printer?”” warning pops up, select “Install driver”:

  1. When prompted to enter your credentials to connect to roi.lvusd.org, enter your LVUSD credentials (your username and password), and make sure to tick the checkbox next to “Remember my password”:
