If you want to sync your Drive to your computer (uses a lot of disk space), ensure "Sync My Drive to this computer" is checked, along with the "Sync everything in My Drive" radio button underneath.
Follow the below instructions ONLY if those boxes are NOT checked.
Click on the Backup & Sync icon (a cloud) then on the three dot menu on the right-hand side, followed by selecting "Preferences…".
In the window that pops up, navigate to the "Google Drive" tab, and tick the "Sync My Drive to this computer" checkbox, as well as the "Sync everything in My Drive" radio button.
A Google Drive folder should appear in your user account now, and your files will begin syncing from the cloud.
Download and install Google Drive File Stream.
Now you have access to your Drive and Shared Drives from your computer, while using up very little actual disk space.
Dragging files or folders into the Drive folder will upload them to your Drive (in the cloud) but you need to remember to access your files through File Stream instead of the original files/folders elsewhere on your computer.
Open your LVUSD Google Drive and check how much storage you are using.
a. If you are using 15GB or more, you will need to either transfer only up to 15GB of data to one personal gmail account, split the data between multiple gmail accounts, or transfer everything and pay monthly to get a higher storage tier through Google. (NOTE: This monthly fee is a Google service, and is not affiliated with LVUSD in any way.)
b. If you are using less than 15GB, proceed without making any changes.
